Dr. Darwin Bloom’s lifelong dream was to see mankind reach the stars. To do this, he had to steal back his designs for interstellar travel fom the Solostros Syndicate. However, the gangsters uncovered his plot and sentenced him to death. Darwin narrowly escaped their clutches by using his teleportation suit. But he ended up stranded on a rogue planetoid in uncharted space instead. In his final moments, Darwin received a transmission from another universe. A dark entity offered him a chance at revenge in exchange for his services. He accepted without a second thought, setting the stage for the Exoverse's invasion of Earth. 

In the darkest corner of the universe, three monolithic beacons synthesized Darwin Bloom’s genetic material. Once the concoction had been perfected, it was released into a lagoon of darkling matter. The sample catalyzed, creating a new lifeform. While Bloom’s body was continually refined, his consciousness underwent a simulation. Facing constant danger from malevolent predators, he relinquished whatever hampered him—including the remnants of his humanity. Freed from weakness, the creature evolved into something formidable. Once Bloom rose from the primordial ooze, his Exoversal overlords could begin their campaign for universal domination. The power they give to their harbinger would be more than enough to crush Earth. 

In the realm of quantum entanglement, particles maintain an unchanging influence over one another, regardless of distance. Such was the case of Darwin Bloom and Rebekah Winters. Both were revered in their respective fields. However, the direction their lives took couldn’t have been more different. Rebekah and Darwin’s unlikely meeting came a decade after the latter’s demise. When the harbinger returned to Earth, he destroyed Las Vegas with a hidden particle accelerator. Rebekah would be his last victim on that fateful night. However, that would not be her end. Instead, her trauma would send her on a collision course with the darkling.
